From the President -
Dear Fellow Rotarians:
We have had a full and productive year as Rotarians in Jasper. On May 21, 2002 we recognized many of our fellow Rotarians whom deserve special recognition for their efforts in our endeavors this year.
Additionally, as I near the end of my year as President of this outstanding club, I have one request: Participation. This year we’ve had a tremendous increase in participation and attendance, but I know we can continue to improve, so let’s begin with attendance. Next year let’s make every Tuesday a Rotary priority. See each of you on Tuesday.

Speakers for June:
June 4 - Joe
Matthews, engineer, project consultant with the City of Jasper will
speak about community enhancement projects. Introduced by Eva Ovitt.
June 11 - Kevin Patton - Attorney with Maynard, Cooper and Gale in
Birmingham - 1985 Graduate of the United States Naval Academy and
President of the US Naval Academy Alumni Association, Alabama
Chapter, will speak about the Naval Academy. Introduced by Torrie
Grelle.
June 18 - Evan Dillard, Walker Baptist Medical Center, introduced by
Doug Pearson.
June 25 - Chad Lanier with the Alabama Organ Center in Birmingham.
He will be discussing the need for organ donation how to become a
donor. Introduced by Sonja Jones.
Rotarians responsible for the program in July: Haig Wright, Roger Hill, Barry Allen and Anessa Wright.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Next Rotary Board Meeting - June 10.
Easter Egg Hunt - netted about $7,000 - in spite of the rain.
Rotary District Conference - held April 25 - 28. Jasper Rotary won several awards including First Place in Per-Capita Giving for a Medium Size Club - District 6860; First Place in percentage of growth for a Medium Size Club - District 6860 and met the requirements in all areas of service to qualify for the "Club of Distinction" Award.
