JASPER ROTARY NEWSLETTER
NOVEMBER 2002
EMAIL EDITION

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Fellow Rotarians:

November is Rotary Foundation month. President Bhichai Rattakul reminds us how the foundation helps as a world wide resource to "Sow the Seeds of Love" and provides programs to the less fortunate. At home, we have experienced first hand how our Jasper Rotary Foundation has provided a useful and beautiful clock to the city of Jasper for all its residents to enjoy. The long term commitment of our members to further contribute to the community through the local foundation will be evident in the months to come.

Our golf tournament was a success and I want to thank all who participated in some way either by playing, working the tournament, contributing a t-box or a door prize. This was a service project that utilized both the time and talent of our members. We appreciate the dedication and hard work of Dr. Betsy Lavanna - Chair, George Miller, Ted Killingsworth, and Jerry Redmill.

We are closer to our goal for the Jasper Rotary club in our Polio Plus campaign to raise contributions of $3500. Dr. David Wesley is the chairman and if you haven't signed up for your contribution it is not too late. To have Polio eradicated from the Earth by 2005 is an obtainable goal and we can play our part in this program.

Yours in Service,

Linda Burns

Who Am I ?

My business "belies" the fact that I work 9 to 5. I can arrange for you to be checked out from head to foot and anywhere in between. Like Dolly Parton and the rest of the "9 to 5" girls, I keep my secretarial skills honed. Although born in a different "South", I like Jasper just fine. WHO AM I?

If you know who I am please enter the drawing to win $25 given in your name to the Jasper Rotary Foundation. Put my name and yours on a strip of paper located in the back of the meeting room and drop it in the bowl. You have through the last meeting of the month to enter. A winner will be drawn the first meeting of each month. You must be present to win the drawing.
